I’m diving into the often-neglected realm of internal versus external factors and their profound impact on your job or business. I've got to be upfront, we're going to wade through the territory of my least favorite subject: emotions. Brace yourself for a bit of monotone or even annoyance, as I'll be candid—I loathe this part. However, despite my aversion, I can't stress enough how crucial it is to anchor emotions in your journey for genuine success in your professional endeavors.

Let's cut to the chase. If you believe you're a completely different person at work than you are in your personal life, I've got news for you: you're off balance, and it's time for some desperate calibration. Trust me, once you undertake this, the payoff will unveil a newfound balance you didn't even realize you were missing.

Let's simplify this.

We're talking about the clash between self-actualization and everything else external. That’s the way we respond, react, and how external factors sway us. This often flies under the radar for professionals and business owners as a crucial aspect that needs to be meticulously anchored, figured out, and nailed down.

Here's where many hit a roadblock. Despite apparent success on paper, if something feels off or if satisfaction and fulfillment elude you, chances are there's an imbalance between the internal and external.

I get it; attaching emotions to this process isn't a walk in the park, but it's an indispensable journey in advancing your career or business.

It's a colossal boulder to navigate, but starting in the right direction is the easy part.

You don't need mastery; you need enough information to make informed decisions. Once you set this into motion, it gets easier; it becomes a learned behavior, a consistent pattern.

Establishing your self-actualization baseline starts at the simplest level of your personal feelings and emotions, ensuring your basic needs are met.

This involves a pause, a step back, a holistic assessment, and granular introspection to ensure your fundamental needs are genuinely met, free from any lingering issues. Many stumble here, overlooking seemingly small elements that form an unreliable foundation. Zoom in, zoom out, get granular, and and move things around. Then progress forward.

Moving up the ladder, there's the need for connection, belonging, and love is all internal. Security comes from diving in, examining granular details, and yes, jotting it down. I know, the resistance is real, but putting pen to paper, typing it out, or journaling is key. It forces you to confront and modify, bringing clarity to your needs.

We must start connecting dots on knowledge and understanding, exploring your purpose, meaning, and the need for predictability. Building a baseline for other aspects is crucial; writing it down triggers thoughts, connecting the dots to answer deeper questions. And that’s the beauty of having a solid foundation.

For those seeking a deeper dive, consider signing up for my Elevate360 Digital Digest. It's not just information; it's a guide with tangible, data-driven results. If you're ready for a more personalized approach, spots for private coaching are available. Check the show notes for details.
