In this episode we hear from Marathon Swimmer and Triathlon Mental Performance Coach Neil Edge.

Neil explains his background and how he has transitioned into marathon swimming.

We talk about some of the mental blocks that most triathletes have, and Neil share some great advice including a simple technique that can be used to re-direct your mind when you find yourself in the “hurt locker.”

When I ask him how I can get myself on track coming out of the winter months, Neil suggest that I identify a small reward that I would get after completing a daily workout.

Neil explains the difference between motivation and discipline. We talked about the importance of meditation and daily affirmations.

Neil offers several options to choose from to meet the needs of the individual athlete. To reach out to Neil and learn more about how he can help you overcome the obstacle on your course, you can send a message through Instagram @triathlon_mental_performance or email him at neil@neiledge.com
