I have heard the comparison about what the nation is experiencing today to the events of one of the most turbulent years in U.S. history, 1968. Yes, there are a few similarities on the surface, but underneath differences. In 1968 there was a very unpopular war, however, it was a civil war on the other side of the world, and there was a mandatory draft. College students were unified not fighting each other. There was a crook running for office as the Republican nominee, (Richard Nixon) but he was not twice impeached, convicted of contempt of court, and indicted. RFK a great man and my idol was running for the Democratic nomination, until his assignation. We now have RFK Jr. a freak running. Once again like in 1968 we planning to go to the moon. Ok, why can't you modify the old plans and just go already?? Similarities: division, chaos, turmoil. Differences: event, stakeholders, and objectives. Oh, hell, what do I know?
