How do offerings fit into the Christian's life?

Is there a command?

In This Episode, We Look At:

Giving demonstrates Christ's lordship in our lives.

Giving doesn't empty me of resources, it transfers my resources from earth to heaven.

Christians give generously,

God does not exist for me, I exist for Him.

"God's money has a higher purpose than my affluence" - Randy Alcorn

Christians Give regularly. 1 Cor 16:2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.

Voluntarily 2 Cor 9:7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

Barnabas voluntarily gave the proceeds of the land he sold to meet a unique and great need. Acts 4:36

Sacrificially

2 Cor. 8:2-3 How that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded unto the riches of their liberality.

3For to their power, I bear record, yea, and beyond their power they were willing of themselves;

Cheerfully 2 Cor. 9:7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

Proportionately Acts 11:29 Then the disciples, every man according to his ability, determined to send relief unto the brethren which dwelt in Judaea:

Queitly Matthew 6:1-4

Obediently 1 Thes. 5:19 Quench not the Spirit.

Improve Your Faith and Finances:

Ask the Lord to seek and know your heart, and to impress on you how and when He would have you give, then respond in faith and love, trusting God to provide for you.
