How do therapists work with very young children, including those who do not yet have all the words needed to express their problems, thoughts, and feelings? Play therapists are trained professionals who offer a safe space to systematically allow children to use their natural language (play) to resolve problems such as anxiety, depression, anger, and low self-esteem. Through the process of play therapy, the child gains a better understanding of the problem and acquires skills to better manage and cope with challenges.
