Swing state polls in the last few weeks have been great for Donald Trump, but bad for the Republican Party. A new analysis of what's happening in the states shows that America could once again witness a rise in "ticket-splitting," which is when a voter picks one Party for president and the other Party in down-ballot races. This means that Trump could still win the White House while costing Republicans the House and Senate.
Also, according to a new report from Axios, staffers inside President Biden's White House have told the outlet that they are "miserable" and some aides have fallen into a "black hole" of despair since the presidential debate. These staffers have no idea what's going to happen in either the presidential race or with their own jobs, and this is creating a sense of dread among all of them.
And as part of his insane rantings on the Fourth of July, Donald Trump also issued a new debate challenge to President Biden. Trump offered to debate the President with no moderators and likely no audience, which means the two men would just be standing there screaming at each other in front of cameras for an hour and a half. This actually might not be the worst idea that Trump has ever had.
Finally, Conservative leaders are starting to panic as Donald Trump's MAGA coalition threatens to tear themselves, and the Republican coalition, apart. The main issue revolves around Trump's latest flip-flops on the issue of women's reproductive health freedom, with hardline evangelicals threatening to pull out if the Party doesn't adopt an anti-abortion platform that they would enact nationwide. Trump insists the issue is now left to the states, but that won't suffice for the hardliners.
