Donald Trump has enjoyed a string of good news over the past week, but there are still some unpleasant things happening to him. For example, his two golf courses in New Jersey have now lost their liquor licenses due to the fact that he is a convicted felon, and the state is investigating whether or not that prevents him from serving alcohol at his resorts. That's a huge blow to Trump, both personally for his ego and economically for his businesses.
Also, Republicans, including Donald Trump, have been telling us for years that they are going to go after President Biden when he leaves office for everything from his alleged "open border" policy to his withdrawal from Afghanistan, and they wanted to prosecute him, and other administration officials, for these acts. But thanks to the Supreme Court's ruling on Monday, all of those plans to go after Biden are off limits, as they constitute "official acts" of the President.
And Lauren Boebert is not happy that her Republican colleagues in the House don't seem to care that Steve Bannon went to prison on Monday after he was convicted by a jury for defying a Congressional subpoena. Boebert got on social media long after Bannon surrendered to attack her fellow Republican lawmakers for "not caring" about Bannon's predicament that he brought completely upon himself. Boebert was just looking for someone to fight with because that's all she knows how to do.
Finally, one of Donald Trump's lawyers appeared on CNN this week to lay out their new defense strategy to get the election subversion charges against Donald Trump thrown out. The lawyer claimed that the attempts to overturn the election constitute "official acts" of the president under the Supreme Court's new ruling, and therefore the charges must be dropped. If that is their argument going forward then Jack Smith should have nothing to worry about.
