In late summer of 2010, Workout Music defeated 73 bands to be crowned WGN's Breakthrough Band on a national television broadcast. Their prize was the chance to record an EP with acclaimed producer Manny Sanchez, at his very own I.V. LAB Studio in Chicago. In 2011, Workout Music released their debut record "Dance.Sweat.Rock" at Chicago's beloved Metro. In the summer of 2012, Tyler Quinn was flown from Phoenix to produce Workout Music's first music video for "All Over Town" from "Dance.Sweat.Rock Vol. II" released in February of 2013. They have recently released a live album in March of 2014 and will be releasing their 3rd studio album, recorded with acclaimed producer Marc McClusky, this April.
The new album is focused more around the lead vocals rather then complex instrumentation, the idea being that they want their fans to sing along and enjoy the melody much more with this record. WM dug deep to find influences from classic soul and Motown musicians while keeping an upbeat dance and rock theme throughout the album. WM has continued to gain popularity throughout Chicago for their explosive live show and headlining gigs at the House of Blues, Lincoln Hall, Cubby Bear, Metro, and Double Door.
Workout Music prides themselves on their explosive and groovy live shows; creating dance party atmospheres with confetti, silly string, balloons, bubbles, custom projection and of course, Booze.
Dance n' Soul with Rock n' Roll. Come see for yourself!
