Founded in 1980, The Miss Continental Pageant attracts contestants from all around the world and even some of the most beloved Ru Girls had their eye on the crown first before they went on to Drag Race.
But with so many other pageants in the world, what is it that makes contestants so willing to sacrifice everything and return year after year in hopes of snatching the Miss Continental crown?
The new documentary film, The Queens, looks at the allure of the decades old Miss Continental contest and what it takes to win the one crown that rules them all.
