We wrap up our New Years short series that examines the past, present and future of the church by comparing them to King Saul, the Prophet Samuel and David as found in 1st Samuel 16:1. We also use this comparison to look where individual Christians might find their devotional and relationship to God as it relates to yesterday, today or tomorrow. This final message looks at the church of tomorrow by examining Samuel's anointing the young shepherd boy David as the next King of Israel. From 1st Samuel 16:1-13.

In Christian circles the phrase "the word of God" is synonyms for the Bible and while that is certainly true and valid, when the Apostle Paul uses this same phrasing to describe the Bible as an incredible weapon and part of our Spiritual Armor, his meaning holds a much deeper truth. In exploring his use of "word" in the Greek language, we begin to understand exactly how we are to wield this "Sword of the Spirit" as both an offensive and defensive weapon and how that fits into our role and responsibility in the battle - to Stand. Join us as we unpack how powerful the "rhema" sword can be when facing temptation, attacks and struggles in helping us to overcome in our daily battles. From Ephesians 6:10-17. Have you ever felt spiritually weary or even burned out? Been discouraged by the lack of progress you see in your spiritual growth? Ever given up in your prayer and devotional life because you didn't sense any progress? This message is for you! In this message, we continue to examine the spiritual weapons that we have been given to counter the attacks that Christians face on a daily basis. This week we examine the "Helmet of Salvation" and what the Apostle Paul meant by linking a Roman soldier's helmet with "salvation". To do so, we must examine how the term "salvation" is used in the New Testament and how those uses can effectually become weapons. Listen to discover how our "Hope of and in Salvation" can defeat any doubt or discouragement you might face. From Ephesians 6:17 Thank you for listening to our podcast and we would love for you to subscribe to our page and share with others. Too many Christians are unaware of the power of faith. Most understand that we are "saved" by placing our faith in the person of Jesus Christ and his completed redemptive work on the Cross, but we fail to grasp how our Faith can impact every decision we make and the actions that follow. Faith is so important to the life of an everyday believer that the Apostle Paul includes it as one of our weapons as part of the "Armor of God". So how can we activate, grow and develop this faith to the point that it becomes a "shield" protecting us from the attacks of the enemy and the things of this world? Join us as we discuss the power of faith and how it can change our lives. From Ephesians 6:16 and Hebrews 11:1. This is part one of two messages on the "Shield of Faith" and number 12 in our series on Spiritual Warfare. Why would the Apostle Paul equate Peace with footwear when he is outlining the spiritual weapons we have been given to stand against the attacks of the enemy? What does it really mean to understand and experience peace - even in the midst of the worst that this world can throw at us? Join us for the message on the importance of peace in the spiritual battle and learn how Christians can allow peace to influence their emotions, obedience and passion as they follow Christ. In this message from our Spiritual Warfare Series, we examine the importance that the Apostle Paul places on the "Breastplate of Righteousness" as protection from the attacks of the enemy. Why a breastplate and how can righteousness protect our Heart? We examine the historical understanding of what the heart and stomach represent and how the protection needed is for much more than our internal organs. We also examine how righteousness empowers followers of Christ to stand against doubt, confusion and false doctrine along with providing true joy for our everyday lives. From Ephesians 6:10-14. This is the 10th messages in our series on Spiritual Warfare and our 4th message on the Armor of God. As pick back up on our series from the Fall on Spiritual Warfare, we begin to examine the "Armor of God" that the Apostle Paul describes in Ephesians 6. Is this a literal armor? symbolic? a little of both? Why do we need it if we already have Jesus Christ? In the next couple of weeks, we will examine each element of the armor, but this morning's message focuses on why this armor is so important for our daily walk as a Christian and how it fits into the overall understanding of Spiritual Warfare. From Ephesians 6:10-13. Thank you for listening to our podcast and we would love for you to subscribe to our page and share with others. We continue our look at the three characters found in 1st Samuel 16:1 by examining the role that Samuel played in moving the nation of Israel forward by obeying God and anointing David as the next King. In this obedience, Samuel became the bridge between yesterday (Saul) and tomorrow (David). In this message we ask the question, "Where are the Samuel's today?" the Christians and church members who are willing to guard, protect and pass on the anointing of God to the next generation. In this message we examine a pivotal moment in time for the nation of Israel as God removes his anointing from Saul and calls Samuel to go to the house of Jesse to anoint a new King. In this moment, all three of the characters are facing huge life changing decisions that will reverberate for years to come. As we move into the new year, many of the choices and decisions we will make could turn pivotal with ripples that not only affect us but those closest to us. We also examine what is the anointing of God and how you can lose it - even as a church - and what we can do to guard and protect it. From 1st Samuel 16:1. Part one of two. As we kick off the Advent season and begin looking towards Christmas, this message challenges us to prepare our hearts for the true meaning of the Christmas Season. We ask the question; have we spent as much time preparing our hearts as we have our homes? If not, then is it any wonder so many miss the power and purpose of Christmas. To help us prepare we look at some lessons from the one who was sent to prepare the way for Jesus, John the Baptist. From Luke 3:1-6. What does Paul mean when he encourages the Corinthians to "take every thought captive" and what does it have to do with Spiritual Warfare? This message explains and gives some practical examples on what that might look like and why it plays such a critical role in the battle for our minds. In this message we discuss the battle for the mind and strongholds in our mind. What is a stronghold? How do they get built up and what can we do to tear them down. Using another Old Testament example from the life of David, we examine how Christians can identify strongholds and why it is important to deal with them sooner rather than later.
