Christmas is about giving and sharing. That is true of the "joy" we receive at Christmas time. The angel announced to the shepherds that first Christmas, "I proclaim to you good news of great joy that will be for all people. Today a Savior, who is Christ the Lord, was born to you in the City of David" (Luke 2:11). That was the night the Greatest Giver, God, gave the Greatest Gift, His Son, Jesus Christ. This brought great joy. Notice what the shepherds did with the message that brought them so much joy. "They reported the message they were told about this child, and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds shared with them" (Luke 2:18). Christmas is about joy and the real experience of joy comes when you share it with others.
