Episode 142 with Jin Singh of Wootz Militia located in Birmingham England. Black country as it's known for its history in the metal working world. Jin shares a shop with an actual foundry that is located right down the street from some very prominent companies including Brooks, Peter Wright, Norton and many more. His shop now produces some of the world's most excellent wootz and also does some spectacular historical work. Jin comes by this trade in a very honest manner although his path wasn't clear to him at first. His grandfather was the village blacksmith in an Indian village, but Jin didn't take on this trade until later in life. He tells us of some history in his family and how that transcribed into his current business. Jin's knowledge in wootz and the history of it was spectacular to listen to. Not only the history of Wootz, but the uses of it as well. This episode will fill your notebooks! If that isn't something you've done in the past then this episode is where it starts! Many thanks to Jin and the International Wootz Society for their efforts in maintaining and sharing the knowledge of such an amazing metal process. CanIron 2025 That's right ladies and gents.
