Psalm 113:1-9
“From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same the LORD’s name is to be praised.” You find that statement in Psalm 113 verse 3. “From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same the LORD’s name is to be praised.” Well, we have some responsibilities, don’t we? Number one, to praise God. The Lord’s name should be praised. It’s so tragic when we forget to praise the Lord. Someone has said that he feels sorry for atheists and agnostics because when they want to be thankful they have no one to talk to. How can you be thankful for a beautiful sunrise or a beautiful sunset; a beautiful spring day or even a beautiful winter day if you can’t come and thank the Lord? If there is no God who does these things, how can we be thankful? Let’s praise God. He deserves it and He does so much for us.
“Blessed be the name of the LORD from this time forth and for evermore.” “Who is like unto the LORD our God?” The psalmist tells us praise God. Praise God all day long. “From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same the LORD’s name is to be praised.” Praise Him when you have to get up in the morning. Praise Him when you’re tired at the end of the day. Praise Him during the day when you try to run and not be weary and walk and not faint. Just praise Him all day long. For the good things that happen, give Him thanks. And for the difficult things, give Him thanks because we know that all things are still working together for good to them who love the Lord. Praise him all day long.
But he’s also saying praise Him all over the world. From the east to the west, praise the Lord. I wonder today, are we thinking about those out in the world who do not know the Lord? Billions of them! Billions of people who have never had the opportunity once to know about the Lord Jesus Christ and His salvation. And what are we doing about it? Oh, let’s begin by witnessing right where we are. Let’s be praying and giving. Our missionaries need our support. And perhaps God wants to call one of us to go and carry that message. Let’s praise God all day long, all over the world. Praise ye the Lord. “Blessed be the name of the LORD from this time forth and for evermore.”
