On this episode of the Friends in Beauty podcast I welcome Carol Rasheed to the Friends in Beauty guest chair. An Emmy Nominated Veteran Makeup Department Head in the TV and Film Industry. She credits her advances in the profession by always listening, always learning and forever being a collaborative partner!
Carol has headed countless TV and Film projects with Warner Brothers, NBC, ABC, BET, AMC, Tyler Perry Studios, Oprah Winfrey Networks, HBO, Showtime, Apple TV, Netflix, and many others. Carol held Spa/Salon Owner contracts with the Walt Disney Company, The Home Shopping Network, and Marriott Properties at Sea World. Additionally, she recently served as the Makeup Department Head in the new adaptation of the musical film The Color Purple.
She understood early in her career that TV and Film Make Up Artistry would thrive as a business first requiring professionalism, dedication to excellence, and the will to succeed, in spite of several life-changing odds against her. In giving back to an industry that’s given her so much, Carol founded The TV and Film Makeup Academy in 2016. It’s through this venue, she seized the opportunity to usher in and train the next generation of skilled TV and Film makeup Artists!
