Before the Israelites sought to possess the land of Canaan, Joshua sent spies into the land to scout out the inhabitants the Israelites would seek to conquer. When the report came back of a lush land "full of milk and honey", the Israelites rejoiced. But, when the received word of the deadly inhabitants, the Israelites weeped. Why? They didn't believe that they could ever hope to conquer a powerful people. Didn't they remember what God had done for them in the land of Egypt? Didn't they remember what God had done for them in the wilderness? They failed God, because they failed to remember God's work.
