It’s not often you hear the expression, “quilting world flash bang” but that’s exactly how we would describe Michael C Thorpe. An outlier in the quilting world, Thorpe has made a splash in the medium by weaving in his identity as a black man, his dreams about his family and his own manner of painting with fabric and thread.
