Did you know that the 88th legislative session ended on May 29, 2023? Did you know that a special legislative session was called immediately after the regular session ended? So much happened between Jan. 10, 2023 when the 88th legislative session started and now.
Join us as we give an overview of our next series that will recap all that went down at the Texas Capitol. Over the next few weeks, we will be speaking with guest experts who work in a specific area of Texas politics.
We’re rolling up our sleeves and tackling The Good, The Bad and The Ugh!
‘The Good’ will cover the good bills that were passed and the lawmakers who deserve an extra special shout out for their incredible work.
‘The Bad’ will address the bad bills headed our way. Our lens for judging a bill ‘bad’ was how it affects most Texans. Does this solve a problem or divert attention away from real issues?
‘The Ugh’ is the catch-all for those moments of frustration, disbelief and exhaustion.
Finally, we will wrap up shows by asking our guests ‘What does democracy mean to you?’ In this episode we share our answers.
And we want listeners to share too! Send us a voice memo to info@gobehindtheballot.com and we will play your answers on future shows.
