Greetings sis!
Welcome to another episode of the Good Girl Gone Real podcast! Today we're talking about the complicated work of erecting, navigating, and maintaining boundaries in our personal lives and in our careers. Even when we know we need them, sometimes it is VERY hard to not only confront someone who is disrespecting your boundaries, but also to continually watch someone you love or are in a relationship with exhibit behavior that is not fair to either one of you.
This is where you might have to have the.....duh duh duh......Boundary Talk!
[Confrontation avoiders unite! :-)]
We'll discuss:

  • How not to let the unpleasantness of what might be a difficult conversation, stop you from creating a boundary.
  • Suggestions for how to handle habitual boundary violaters
  • *Handling work boundaries....spoiler alert: You CAN say NO to things!

As difficult as a single conversation (or several) might be to have, it could mean the difference between keeping someone in your life or deciding they don't belong there anymore.
How do you do this without feeling guilty? Give them the option to stay or go, but stand firm and resolute about what it takes to rock with you, as you take back control of your own life. You might have people put up a fight, and you might have who are self-aware enough to acknowledge that they didn't know they were at fault. Sometimes people surprise us! Either way, you've gotta stay true to you. Don't be afraid to talk that talk girl!
