Welcome to the latest episode of Good Life Stories, where we delve into the fascinating journey of Bruce Pflaumer, a professional stylist with a rich history in the fashion industry. Hosted by Tracey Crowley, this episode is a delightful mix of humor, nostalgia, and valuable insights into the world of fashion.

Bruce Pflaumer's love for style began at a young age. He recalls how his mother used to dress him up, and by third grade, he was already making fashion statements with his corduroy sport coat and ascot. Despite the teasing he faced for wearing glasses, Bruce embraced his unique style, a trait that would follow him throughout his life.

"I was up for best dressed in high school, and I did not get it. That was the catalyst to make me into a professional image consultant stylist."

High school was another pivotal period for Bruce. Known for his impeccable style, he often shopped at a local mart in New Jersey to create fresh looks every week. His dedication to fashion was evident, but surprisingly, he did not win the "Best Dressed" title in high school. This setback only fueled his passion, leading him to become a professional image consultant stylist. Bruce humorously shares how he still wants to attend a high school reunion to show how far he's come.

Bruce's journey didn't stop at high school. He ventured into modeling, where he learned the harsh realities of the industry. From wearing too-tight shorts on a runway to participating in mannequin modeling, Bruce's stories are both entertaining and enlightening. His experience in modeling taught him resilience and adaptability, traits that would serve him well in his future career.

At 18, Bruce moved to Seattle, chasing love but finding a career at Nordstrom instead. Starting as a Christmas help, his persistence and style sense quickly earned him a permanent position. Over 17 years, Bruce climbed the ranks, eventually helping to create the Halogen brand and traveling the world for fashion shows and design development.

One of the most challenging moments in Bruce's career was opening a massive Nordstrom store in Menlo Park, New Jersey. Despite extensive research and preparation, the store's opening day was a disappointment with no customers showing up. This experience taught Bruce the importance of quick thinking and adaptability in the retail industry.

Bruce Pflaumer's journey is a testament to the power of perseverance and passion. From childhood fashion experiments to a successful career at Nordstrom, Bruce's story is filled with valuable lessons and entertaining anecdotes. Tune in to this episode of Good Life Stories to hear more about Bruce's incredible journey and his insights into the world of fashion.
