PROFILE
Growing up in India, Raj has been on and off Yoga mat most of his life. Exploring new boundaries and experimenting with Asanas is something you will find in his practice. Currently undergoing YTT in Chattanooga, Raj is no stranger to Cleveland. Playful, Friendly & Gentle teacher is known to introduce variations to poses and connect your breath to movements. His yoga practices are often described to have dynamic flows leaning towards strength building and fine tuning postures. Raj is an early riser and loves to get bendy with cup of coffee. He is an ardent supporter of yoga everyday theory and you will find him at the studio on weekends as well. His energetic, enthusiastic and ready to go persona has drawn Yogis and Yoginis of all levels to yoga mats. Raj spends lot of time discovering and understanding yoga techniques. He is a good friend to share your perspective on yoga and you will see his passion of reciprocating views and ideas in making yoga essential part of your life. His favorite punch line is – ‘take a moment ‘ – Come discover what that really means!
PRACTICE
Raj practices Vinayasa Yoga with primary focus on breath and connecting it to movements. He emphasizes his practice will make a difference when you really focus your attention on how well you breath and move with that breath. His sequences have variations to poses making it dynamic and intense. His approach is to introduce variations step by step to yogis makes it more of your practice and not what flow or sequence want you to do. You will find Raj’s style dictating inhales and exhales as you transition between the asanas interestingly closer to Iyengar Hatha Yoga, focusing on precision and strength building. For Beginners he recommends standing poses before moving into sequences. Raj wants to postures or asanas give you ‘Health, Healing and Beyond’. Making it your own practice is his motto. His point of view is making yoga way of life will bring an undeniable change to your lifestyle that not only will show external changes to your physic but make you speak to your inner self bringing new perspective every day, every step of the way.
PHILOSOPHY
Why Yoga ? It's relaxing. It's energizing. It's strengthening. You feel better at the end of a session than before you began, and life runs more smoothly when you maintain a consistent discipline than when you don't. This is how yoga works, how it makes you feel good.
