On tonights show, Joshua interviews Erica Shivers!

Erica Shivers has truly lived out her vision for the world as a global citizen through her charitable acts and commitment to communities around the world.

She has volunteered on several continents, giving commitment and time to those truly in need. She volunteered through the ebola crisis in West Africa and assisted during the earthquake crisis in Haiti. It was during these experiences that she decided to start a non-profit organisation called Global Sympathy Network, focusing on bringing hope to some of the world’s most disadvantaged people.

Having obtained a doctorate degree in Atmospheric Science, she has spent the last four years in research at Imperial College London. Now a part of the Insight team at NASA, she has big plans to see advanced schools built in Africa for aerospace science and research, with hopes to also create more satellite launches for the African hemisphere intended to give rural areas better access to agricultural data and the internet. Erica is also a public speaker bringing awareness and empowerment to both select authorities and those still needing to find their voice. She frequently speaks at high-schools, empowering teens and encouraging them with professional insight into the scientific world.

Additionally, Erica loves the arts and has participated in several theater productions, her most recent one highlighting contemporary women’s issues. Erica believes in family but also equal rights for all, no matter how they identify.
