It kept going up and up and up and up.
Thank you for calling GIH where we instigate growth one call at a time where we utilize antiquated technology to deliver 3-minute leadership lessons every week day! This is message #128 and I am Aaron Havens.
Have you ever gone to one of those parking garages that has many many levels? If you’re in a truck, watch out for the clearance. And if you’re in any other kind of vehicle, watch out for just about everything else. They “whoever they are” pack those cars in. I didn’t know it was possible to have to go drive reverse drive reverse so many times just to fit into a parking space. And oh yeah, good luck getting out of your door if the cars next to you are about 6” away. Parking garages. They can be a source of anxiety as you go up and up and up and up looking for a parking spot. At some point you even stop looking for the perfect parking spot and an ole’ spot will do!
Alright my friends. Listen up. And listen up good.
I’m not sure what parking garage you are in right now.
Life can be dark and tight and offer no parking spots as you climb level after level after level. And as your friends, or co-workers or random other people get the prime parking spots you keep climbing… now panic or frustration is setting in.
You’re life. What you’re doing is worth it. Just be patient. Put on some jazz music, be happy for the people who are getting the spots where you wanted to park.. as my mother-in-law would say “bless and release them”. Go to the next level. You’re spot will show up. And maybe just maybe, you’ll be closer to the elevator!
And the good news is this. We all exit the garage the same way. There is only one way out. And that is usually a lot of fun going down. Especially if it’s one of the twirlly swirly down ramp.
Stay focused today. Stay patient today. You’re spot is coming!
Thanks for calling in today. Tune in tomorrow for a fresh new topic! After the beep talk me through the list of frustrations you’re experiencing. Or maybe let me know how you’re enjoying the “parking garage” of your life.
