Portrayals of harassment and sexual violence against women in Nepali cinema have changed over time, showing different perspectives. Some movies treat harassment lightly or blame the victim, while others focus on survivors' journeys toward justice and empowerment. Recently, there's been a move towards empowering narratives and advocacy against gender-based violence, shedding light on how caste, class, and gender intersect in shaping these experiences. Despite progress, harmful stereotypes and patriarchal norms persist in the industry.

In this episode of the podcast Gulabi Sambad, we have discussed the same issue with the renowned Nepali Movie Maker, Manoj Pandit. Pandit has shared his thoughts, insights, and observations on how Nepali Cinema has portrayed harassment and sexual violence against women.
