Viral hepatitis affects millions of people around the world, with disproportionate impact in certain countries around the globe.
Around 3.6% of Singapore's population are hepatitis B carriers, although many go about their lives unaware of this. Viral hepatitis screens, are commonly sent off for various indications - abnormal liver function tests, work up for chronic kidney disease, prior to immunosuppressive therapy etc. Thus, it is increasingly important for physicians to be able to interpret the serological panels, and advise their patients accordingly.
Joining us this episode, is senior consultant Dr Rajneesh Kumar, whose key interests and subspecialty lie in viral hepatitis, and its therapeutic advances.
