Todays guest is Nick Harris a Personal Trainer and the founder of @optimal.humans. Nick started his journey in the fitness industry over 10 years ago, he started out as Personal Trainer on a gym floor but then realised he needed to expand his knowledge within the industry so he went back to study doing a Bachelor Degree in Exercise Sports Science. This gave him the opportunity to work with a range of demographics ranging from Elite Athletes, Kids with Autism, clients with a chronic disease as well as the general public. Getting out of the gym and expanding what clients he was working with it allowed Nick to expand his knowledge and helped him realise what direction he wanted to continue down.

Nick explains the challenges he faced being a Personal Trainer and the things he learnt along the way. These learnings were to listen but not take on Clients emotions, importance building relationships, even if you want to you can’t help everyone, dealing with different personalities and the importance of prescreening with your clients before taking them on as a client.

We also cover the importance of finding purpose and how we all need to set challenges to grow and learn which led into talking about Nick benign involve with the Red Bull defiance last year and how it was the most challenging experience physically and mentally he’s ever done to date. And his latest challenge which is starting up his own business in the fitness industry.

I really enjoyed this chat with @coachnickharris he provided some great insight in his personal and business life.

Enjoy the Chat.
