Hello and welcome back to the Trauma Healing for Postpartum Moms podcast! I’m so glad to be back after this short (but needed) break. If it’s your first time here, hi! My name is Danik Bernier, and I'm a mom of two littles, a social worker, and a psychotherapist. I’m so glad to have you here, where you’ll get the validation you most likely need: entering motherhood is not always easy, especially when there are layers of trauma into the mix. Spoiler: they OFTEN have something to do with your postpartum depression and anxiety symptoms.

TRIGGER WARNING: I will talk about different forms of trauma and will give some examples.

In this episode, I chat about:

  • The ways a "village" supports the prevention and/or helps with postpartum depression and anxiety
  • The ways different types of trauma impacts us as new moms and show up in every day life (the mental health symptoms)
  • How EMDR Therapy can help not only with coping but treating the potential source of your postpartum depression and anxiety.

EMDR Intensives for the fall are opening in September!
