Hello and welcome the Trauma Healing for Postpartum Moms podcast. Today, I’m talking about the ways we can figure out for ourselves if we have trauma that needs healing as a postpartum mom. This episode, like every other, is not meant to replace an assessment or therapy provided by a mental health professional, but rather to expose the fact that trauma is subjective, and NO ONE can decide if what we went through was traumatic or not. We can have trauma symptoms even if we do not have PTSD.

As postpartum moms, we go through a lot. So it’s only natural to stop and think about how we feel in regards to certain things we went through during our perinatal journey – or the things we needed but were not given.

In this episode, I chat about:

  • How you can check-in with yourself to notice what your body is trying to tell you
  • How we can decide if something was traumatic or not
  • How to release the trauma so that you can go back to being a present mom

“It’s important to note that the definition of trauma is broader than we think. We’re quick to think about major life events that left us feeling terrorized or events that almost took our life. While those can definitely cause trauma, there is just so much more.”
