"A Place Unmade" is an environmental thriller focusing on the vulnerability of our global food supply. When an agrochemical executive launches a devious plan to corner the world grain market, it takes the combined efforts of graduate students, farmers, scientists, and federal agents to figure out what is happening and who is responsible. A Place Unmade exposes our dependence on a few giant companies who control patented seeds, and how our very existence could be compromised by the correct formula of timing, technology, and human greed.

Carla Seyler worked for years as a vocational rehabilitation counselor, when sometimes the truth was stranger than fiction. This is Carla's first novel, an imaginary disaster story that easily could be true. Carla lives in both Buena Vista and New Orleans with her husband. She has two independent daughters.

Since I can remember, I have been a reader, often having several books going at the same time. If anyone was my teacher, it was the wonderful authors who shared their hearts and souls with me through their stories. I laughed, cried, dreamed, and learned from the stories they shared. My first published story was in 1999 and was a short story in a book of stories about children and the crazy things they do. While it was just a couple of thousand words, I remember the excitement of being accepted into the world of authors. Today I work on stories that talk about the amazing power that children have and the mark they can make on the world. I hope to inspire children to feel into their truth and know that they can make a difference. If just one word, one paragraph, or one story can change a child’s life, I too feel like I have made a difference in the world. Thank you for reading my stories. I am eternally grateful. She is available for storytimes, author visits and speaking engagements.
