Dive deep as Micah Norgard from Washington, D.C. shares his story as a queer, pagan, dad-joking yoga teacher. Suffering from dissociation, a mental down spiral, and the transition from being active in combat to becoming a veteran, Micah tried to try to find himself and his new path after serving with the Marines. He finally gave yoga a go despite all "toxic masculine" judgements against it and knew he would become a teacher to share this gift with the world after his very first practice. In this episode he shares how listening to the our intuition - the inner guru/teacher - saved his life on and off the battlefield and led him to where he is today: a community leader promoting peace, connecting people deeper to their spirituality, and sharing the different healing modalities available in the modern world on his podcast "Sacred Exchange." Our topics include everything from Micah's time in the military and experiencing Traumatic Brain Injuries to spiritual animals, ego, and intuition, and of course: yoga. Micah is a 500-hour certified Hatha-Vinyasa yoga and meditation instructor. Micah’s classes spark the soul, while exploring the healing power of yoga. Utilizing energetic and creative sequencing with vinyasa flows, poses are held longer, and students are given alignment cues. Micah utilizes music, mantras, movement with humor and compassion. Micah brings to the mat his 13 years of experience as a U.S. Marine Corps infantryman, martial arts and physical fitness instructor. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/herascensionstory/support
