Michael Morrison has screwed up a lot in his life. Divorced. Failed businesses. You name, he has managed to fail at it.

And yet....

Michael has also had some incredible success in his personal and professional life. He's led built multi-million dollar businesses, got remarried, and a lot more. Most interestingly, he's turned his early epic fails into parables to help guide others into making better choices. By not leading with his (somewhat intimidating) levels of success, but instead with compassion and the vulnerability, of "hey, just FYI one of the times I really failed, this is how I did it..." Michael is almost impossible to not like and connect with. He makes everyone feel heard, and seen - then helps them to help themselves. Here's the official story:

Born into a domestic abuse situation, kidnapped at age 2 by gunpoint, adopted, self-doubt, low self-esteem, and divorces are only a few of the numerous trials and tribulations Michael Morrison encountered since birth. Living to his full potential and achieving greatness was not in his plan. Even in his 30’s, Michael had worked for, and had always worked for, what is referred to as “the man," also known as “a boss." Michael Morrison didn't know any better. It wasn't in his blood or heritage to do anything else. And, having been raised in a lower middle-class household, the word “entrepreneur” certainly wasn't in Michael's vocabulary. The only thing Michael knew was to get a job. So, he did! Michael dropped out of college and got a job. Michael was determined to always have a job and is proud to have never gone without an hourly wage. Working for “the man” taught Michael the “old school” way of doing things. Think smart and work hard. And that, he did. In 1999, at the age of 32, Michael Morrison began to think smarter as he set out to do what most others would never do out of fear: quit an hourly job of 15 years and start his first business, a direct marketing company. With only $8,000 from a home equity loan and $329 in the bank, Michael Morrison founded Comtech (COMmunicating business through TECHnology) in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Entrepreneurship began like the perfect honeymoon, exhilarating and wildly fulfilling. But, numerous challenges and many failures quickly peeked around every corner. Maintaining the same level of enthusiasm quickly dissipated. For 8 plus years Michael struggled to get it right with failure after failure. It was not until Michael found a mentor and learned to put systems and processes in place, that the company took off. Today, Michael understands the fear of taking bold actions like leaving your job to start a business.
