This week on High-Dere, Ian & Joe discuss how art is made, with the most honest of intentions. After starting the show with Maddie, they wonder how would be the most enjoyable way to demolish a building, given a blank check to do so.

They talk about the documentary “The Death of Superman Lives: What Happened?”, the bizarre notion of a Nicolas Cage Superman, and the Kevin Smith Q&A afterward.

Then they move to people, and how generations have changed. People almost need someone now that has a Robin Hood complex, like Guy Fawkes. And where the hell did bullshit banking and ATM fees come from?

Then Joe tells us about his weekend in the studio, tracking drums for some new Awake or Sleeping music with Jeff Peters, James Gabbie and Benjamin Rice at Pie Studios. He is amazed at the process of putting together a song, getting it recorded and produced, but he admits that he misses the camaraderie of playing together as a group and feeding off each other’s energies. The challenge now is promoting, which leads Ian to wonder why an artist should have to take on that role as well as his artist role.

They then move into an improv session of the ElfTree Podcast Network Elevator Pitches, touch briefly on religious violence in Ian’s hometown, and then stumble into our 34th ending, while encouraging people to reach out and say hi!

All on this week’s episode of High-Dere.
