5 LESSONS FROM 364 DAYS INTO CLIENT ENROLLMENT ACADEMY (Lesson #4 is worth hearing again no matter where you are in your business.)

This Saturday 364 days ago I launched Client Enrollment Academy with my first half day seminar.

For 45 days prior, I hustled to every networking event, spoke at any local venue that would have me, and messaged everyone in my local network (I just moved back to WI 90 days earlier).

The result was 21 people at my first event and a little more then $6,000 in sales.

Since then, I pivoted and focused 100% on building an online community that has allowed me to serve people in 3 countries and this week alone I brought in $9k in sales ($7k that was direct payment).

Over the course of the year I learned a ton and the person that gave that first seminar is not even close to the same person that is typing this message.

I want to share 5 lessons from the year that has helped create my success and, also, cost me a lot of money.

1. FREAKIN' FOCUS Follow. One. Course. Until. Success.

There are a 1,000 ways to make money these days. That doesn't mean you should find 1,000 ways to generate revenue.

There are two types of people that talk about generating "multiple streams of revenue." Distracted people that have no momentum in their business and cash trickling in. And super wealthy people that have been doing entrepreneurship for over 20 years.

The later didn't succeed by running all these businesses at once. They succeed by focusing on one business until it was successful and could hand it off to other people.

If you want momentum and $9k+ weeks, you need to focus on ONE thing.

One service or product. One form of marketing. One sales strategy.

Creating money and abundance in your life is about focus and getting through the initial inertia of creating traction.

Stop chasing shiny objects.

2. OBSESS OVER THE NUMBERS

In the beginning, the numbers can be tough to look at. You start making less then minimum wage and work 60+ hours.

But clarity on what is working is never created if you don't obsess over your numbers. They almost never lie to you.

You will learn as much, if not more, from studying your numbers then buying another online program. New knowledge is great. But nothing beats the knowledge and feedback from the action you already took.

Spend at least half a day a week gathering and studying the numbers within your business.

3. BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS IS THE BEST MARKETING FUNNEL AROUND.

Connecting with people has never been easier then now. I live in a small town of 11,000 people and surrounded by people that don't understand what has driven me to build my own business.

That is okay. Because I can find my people pretty quickly on Facebook.

It is far easier to connect with people now then ever before and those people that brag about their messenger always being full....well they start as a no one in the inbox of those that inspire them.

Be the person that shows up in someone inbox. Connect with them. Figure out where they need help. Find a way to serve them.

It is simple and you will create more business this way at the start then any marketing funnel or lead generation method out there.

4. SUCCESS IS IN THE FOLLOW UP

Approximately 97% of the people you make an offer to will not buy the first time. But "No" today doesn't mean "No" tomorrow.

Your success is not nailing down an awesome pitch, putting a sexy funnel together, or having the webinar of the century created by Tony Robbins himself (well...if you get him to do your webinar it probably would crush it)

But seriously, success is in the follow up.

You can do that through direct outreach every few months.

Or a monthly webinar on a new topic in your industry.

Or retargeted FB ads

Or a FB group.

Or great content in your newsfeed, along with direct outreach.

There are a ton of ways you can follow up with people. The more ways you follow up -- the more success you will have in landing clients.

Don't disqualify a person (or yourself) just because they said "No" once.

5. THE KNOWLEDGE GAP BETWEEN YOU AND THE "EXPERTS" REALLY ISN'T AS WIDE AS YOU BELIEVE

We put those we admire on a pedestal. It just happens.

But what you realize when you start working with these people is that they really don't know that much more then you.

Not too long ago I was excited to see a friends funnel. He was working with a guy that claimed to be an "expert" at FB ads and funnels. That expertise was costing my friend $30k.

The final product was absolute shit. He wasn't tracking his ads properly and the landing pages set up wrong.

It made me realize that I was just as knowledgable, if not more, then a lot of the "experts" out there.

I just wasn't doing Steps 1-4 as much as they were.

Why most "experts" are farther along is because they have spent more time building relationships then you, take far more action, and are following up more often with those that they connect with.

Start valuing who you are and what you know more. Taking action and implementing your ideas will allow you to close an information gap your competition has quickly.

But you have to stop stressing over your perceived lack of experience and put more value around what you do.

Own your gifts and own your right to serve people with them.
