Frank Herbert’s famously “unfilmable” epic 1965 sci-fi novel has vexed many a mighty talent over the years, including, at one stage, Ridley Scott (who almost delivered his crack at it but went for Blade Runner instead). Then, finally, came David Lynch’s notoriously visionary-but-problematic version in 1984. Now, refusing to let scorched earth lie, Denis Villenueve (Arrival, Blade Runner 2049) delivers his take, packed with all the visual elegance -- and sleepy excitement -- of those two films. Fans of the novel are rallying ‘round, so why did this grandiose space opera have your good Doctors running for the nearest wormhole...? In this week's contest, the diabolical Dr. G poses the question which person associated with the 1984 Lynch version of Dune has some connection to all of the following people: Ridley Scott, Eugene Levy, Steven King, Federico Fellini. Who is that person and what is the connection? (Bonus points for guessing the correct answer without looking it up online!)
