As the season winds to an end, it is imperative to keep your gear in working order for the start of next year. There is nothing worse than pulling out your gear only to find that it is broken, or in some sort of disarray because you were lazy and just didn't want to deal with it at that moment. One simple way to keep things in order is to remove all the line from your reels. Throughout the season, moisture is trapped in the line and over time the salt and other contaminants will eat away at your spool, creating pits and corrosion, which effectively weakens you reel. Take care of your investment to ensure that you are ready to go next spring.
