Greg Sanderson is a hospitality legend with 22 years experience in the industry, formally trained in hospitality with a Bachelor of Business Major in Hotel & Tourism Management; and Australian Bartender of the Year winner in 2012.
A former Diageo Reserve Brand Ambassador; Greg is also a serious bar trainer, having trained over 4500 bartenders across Australia; and is now owner and operator of The Speakeasy Group which boasts 8 venues across Sydney and Melbourne in Australia.
Speakeasy Group's offerings include, the globally acclaimed Eau de Vie with 2 locations, Nick and Nora's again with 2 locations, Melbourne's Boilermaker House, Sydney's Kiss Kiss Bang bang and the newly opened Mjølner feasting hall in Sydney's Redfern.
While all their venues have an enviable focus on whisky, carefully designed cocktails, craft beers and hearty food, the heart of Speakeasy’s business is their guest experience.
Founded in 2010, the company has almost doubled in both size and turnover in the last 18 months, and in this episode we’re joined by one of Speakeasy’s owners Greg Sanderson himself where we dive into Speakeasy's history and how they continue to be a market leader in Australia with timeless venues and an enviable track record with operations.
