Thank fuck for Starcrawler
When I first heard their debut album around 5 years ago and I was like, well, this is what the world’s been waiting for. A good dose of Hollywood underbelly, a bit of glam, a bit of punk rock horror, a bit of No Place for Old Men and a huge dose of heart.
Starcrawler were just feeding me all of this charisma, swagger, aggression, melody, pretty much like a parent feeds their baby a gigantic chocolate pudding. Well, maybe not all parents….
Their third album, She Said, came out on 16th September and it’s a monster. It’s musically broader in scope – and better for it in my opinion - but it’s hands down Starcrawler.
It’s a real thrill to have Arrow and Henri on and talk to them about what shaped them as people, their formative influences, how their mindset keep their ideas flowing, allows them the open mindedness to experiment, combat fears and anxieties, deal with setbacks and take risks that they feel comfortable (or uncomfortable) with.
You can also see their powers of persuasion to get me on a train to come see them play in Norwich.
Great stuff - thanks guys.
