Yorgos Lanthimos is back at it with a haunting surrealist fairy tale starring the great Emma Stone in an unforgettable performance, Mark the Hulk Ruffalo, and the always weird and amazing Willem Dafoe. We dive into Poor Things in a spoiler free but fun way to hopefully illuminate this wild and fantastical tale in a way that tickles your fancy and reveals just how wild this movie is and how there has never been a film remotely close to it- both in story and visuals!
Up next is Bradley Cooper's next swing at the golden statue, Maestro! This Netflix released film is directed and acted by the incredible Mr. Cooper, also starring Carey Mulligan and Matt Bomer. 'Maestro' is reviewed with no spoilers by Bobby and we discuss its place among the other Oscars Best Picture Nominees.
Last but certainly not least, the French court room / procedural drama 'Anatomy of a Fall.' Anatomy of a Fall is directed by Justine Triet, starring the incredibly talented Sandra Hüller / Huller, Swann Arlaud, up and comer Milo Machado-Graner, and the amazing dog Snoop, Anatomy of a Fall is not only a foreign film sensation but has taken the States by storm as we are dropped in on an incredibly unique murder mystery in one of the most beautiful backdrops ever, the French Alps. The original title for this film is 'Anatomie d'une chute.'
We here on I Watch More Movies Than You podcast take the Oscars seriously and absolutely adore the Super Bowl for the cinephile, so please considering giving us a subscribe and a follow and devour all of our Oscar and movie content!
