Meg 2: The Trench spoiler-free review! Jason Statham is back fresh off of punching a MEGALADON in the face, can the sequel deliver the big fish on the big screen again!? Listen and find out!
THE summer blockbuster, Jaws! With two musical notes 57 million people were petrified in the US in 1975, and the ocean has been feared ever since. We take a deep dive, pun, into Steven Spielberg's accidental masterpiece as we explore the best summer movie of all time, 'Jaws.'
Roy Scheider, Robert Shaw, and Richard Drefuss gave us an unforgettable crew out on the Atlantic as Amity Island is under attack from a beast from the deep. Simple enough logline, but an incredible picture. Rob and I explore why Jaws is still rememberd to this day, from the lore of the set, to the breaking down of the infamous shark Bruce, and to the drunken monologues of Robert Shaw (rip). We cover the ins and outs of this cinematic masterpiece and journey to just why this movie is so effective and how it changed the course of cinema forever!
Last but certainly not least, a hidden gem from January of all months, 2020, right before the world shut down.. Underwater (2020)! Directed by William Eubank and starring the fantastic Kristen Stewart, Vincent Cassel, Mamoudou Athie, we following a crew of oceanic researchers working at a deep sea drilling company over 7 miles deep at the center of the Mariana Trench as an earthquake devastates their facilities and they are in a race for their lives as they have to travel deeper and deeper looking for working escape pods. As if being in a race against their own fate isn't enough, there is something far more sinister than the earthquake to contend with.. and older. Ancient, even.
DO NOT MISS UNDERWATER! It was dropped into January before the pandemic never to be seen again, but don't make that mistake! Watch Underwater now and listen to us deep dive, pun again, into this terrifying ocean surface sea-creature thriller the likes you have NEVER seen before, trust me! The last 5 minutes of this movie is my favorite in recent cinema history!! It's that insane, go watch it now- you won't regret it!
And please consider leaving us a 5-star review and sharing us with your friends and family, we'd truly appreciate it! You guys are rockstars, thanks so much for coming along for the ride as we explore the greatest artform in history- movies!
