Welcome to another episode of I’ll Show You Mine! This week Elyse is showing James ‘Dead Poets Society’ from 1989. Directed by Peter Weir and starring Robin Williams, Ethan Hawke, and Robert Sean Leonard, ‘Dead Poets Society’ tells the story of an unconventional English teacher at a prestigious boys prep school in the 50s who encourages his students to think for themselves.

Join us as we talk about Robin Williams’ iconic performance as teacher John Keating, discuss our own relationship to reading, writing, and poetry, and get more than a little emotional thinking about how we could maybe “Carpe Diem” in our own lives a bit more. A brief warning that this movie contains a suicide plot and we discuss that around 00:56-01:05 and 01:16-01:19 if you’d prefer to skip it.

Our next episode will be September 24th, when James shows Elyse ‘The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds’ for the Nintendo 3DS.

Our theme song is by us! James Sparkman and Elyse Wietstock.
