The young Irish actress Lara McDonnell has played a young Anne Brontë in a story about the famous writing sisters and the precocious Matilda in a musical version of Roald Dahl’s classic story. For Disney's live-action adaptation of Artemis Fowl, based on the popular kids series about a budding criminal mastermind, she plays Holly Short -- a police officer in a hidden, high-tech fairy world who pairs up with the young human to, of course, help save the world. One of the best parts of the role: learning to fly.
