On the show today we chat with Associate professor Kelvin Kong. Kelvin is an ENT surgeon, a fellow of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons and is passionate about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health. Bio: Dr Kelvin Kong, from the University of Newcastle's (UON) School of Medicine and Public Health, is an otolaryngology, head and neck surgeon and a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS). He explains that hearing loss, often caused by Otitis Media (middle ear disease), significantly contributes to poor educational outcomes for children and higher unemployment rates in adults as a result. Determined to change the statistics, Dr Kong has dedicated his career to early intervention.
