Timothy V. Murphy Though he may be recognized as Gregor, the “mini giraffe” owning Russian billionaire in the DirecTV commercial campaign, TIMOTHY V. MURPHY is a veteran of Stage, Film and Television having worked extensively on both sides of the Atlantic. Born in Kerry, Ireland Tim is now based in Los Angeles. Tim’s powerful 3 season arc as “Gaalan,” the head of the Irish syndicate, on FX’s hit SONS OF ANARCHY just came to a tragic end when he and Ron Pearlman were killed off together. He can also be seen the past two seasons as the deadly Russian arms dealer and super-villain “Sidorov” on NCIS: LOS ANGELES for CBS. Other recent TV work includes a 6 episode arc on CRIMINAL MINDS as Paget Brewster’s nemesis/love interest, “Ian Doyle”; the Walter Hill pilot MADSO’S WAR for Spike TV; and fun Guest Stars on HELL ON WHEELS, SHAMELESS, REVENGE, LONGMIRE, FAIRLY LEGAL and BURN NOTICE to name a few. Tim could be seen this summer in Disney’s LONE RANGER opposite Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer. Additional film credits include the western APPALOOSA opposite Ed Harris, Viggo Mortensen and Jeremy Irons; Jorma Taccone’s comedy MACGRUBER opposite Val Kilmer; NATIONAL TREASURE: BOOK OF SECRETS opposite Nicholas Cage; GREEN STREET HOOLIGANS 2; and Jason Momoa’s upcoming directorial debut ROAD TO PALOMA. Tim is also an award winning stage actor and lifetime member of The Actor’s Studio.
