The Fourth of July and Indepedence Day! We often think about fireworks, cookouts and BBQs, and of course, history.

Rather than talk about the history many of us know well, we ll be talking about an aspect of history that isn t discussed often: the impact women had on the creation of the United States and unconscious bias in history.

We ll be talking about:

  • Native American women
  • Women who serves as spies: women were spies during the Revolutionary War. Men thought that women were too simple minded to understand the War, so they spoke freely in front of them)
  • Warrior Women: women did in fact serve as soldiers during the War.
  • General influencers: Mercy Otis Warren, Sybil Ludington, Abigail Adams, Martha Washington, to name a few.
  • Unconscious bias and it’s impact in our perception of history.

We hope you can join us!
