#495: Work Zone Crashes Are Preventable
Manage episode 418568915 series 3129959
On this episode of Inside the FLX we're talking about the work being done by law enforcement to curb work zone incidents, like the two fatal ones that happened in recent days across the region. Sheriff Brian Schenck from Cayuga County joined us via Zoom for his monthly touch base, discussing a range of issues. He says work zone safety starts with a mindset change from motorists. While law enforcement can write tickets - there aren't enough deputies to cover every work zone in a county like Cayuga. Schenck also discussed a visit from a Finger Lakes SPCA shelter dog, which he hopes can lead to new programming opportunities at the Cayuga County Jail down the road, as well as a recent three day training to better assess behavioral threats that lead to violence. There was plenty more talked about, so check out the full episode on YouTube, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, the iHeartRadio app, or FingerLakes1.com App!
