Intel Chip Chat – Network Insights audio podcast with Allyson Klein: Quanta Cloud Technology (QCT), is developing a solid 5G foundation in preparation for steep demand by focusing on its ‘infrastructure for the future, now’. Howard Wu, Vice President, Global Head of Networks and GM USA at QCT joins Intel® Chip Chat Network Insights in this interview recorded as a virtual livecast in lieu of MWC Barcelona.

Howard explains QCT’s approach to insert compute into the network, alongside Intel’s drive to virtualize network infrastructure in order to democratize compute everywhere.

Hear about the new Intel Select solution for NFVI Forwarding Platform and discover how this configuration delivers value to the industry through open reference design. QCT will soon offer Intel Select Solutions on the latest 2nd Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processor with built-in Intel Deep Learning Boost, including a NUMA-balanced, NFV-ready, DPDK-enabled NFVI Forwarding Platform (NFVI FP) that has been certified on Red Hat enterprise Linux and OpenStack Platforms, the company states. A significant aspect of the new line-up is the focus on open source. QCT is now introducing its Next Generation Central Office 2.0 (NGCO 2.0) solution that was originally scheduled to be presented at MWC 2020 in Barcelona.

Collaborating and executing projects with partners, QCT has updated Rakuten cloud-native mobile network, an ORAN DU/CU disaggregated architecture, and ONAP machine learning based data lake project with China Mobile.
