Hvor finder vi Gud? I det gamle testamente var Gud nærværende i templet, som Salomo byggede. Men på grund af Israels synd blev templet ødelagt. Ezekiel forudsagde et tempel, hvor Gud igen skulle være nærværende, hvorfra en kilde skulle gå ud med vand, der rensede og levendegjorde. I søndagens tekst viser Jesus, at Han er både templet og tempelkilden, hvorfra det levende vand går ud, som renser og gør mennesker levende.
