"Oh yeah, the whole world is going to collapse when we release this one", "oh yeah, once we release this, all art will become useless", "oh yeah, once we release this, software engineers will be a dead field (please ignore the outsourcing)", "oh yeah, this thing is truly smarter than all mathematicians on Earth, just wait till we release it!!!!!". Like it’s all so tiresome. It’s a level of attention-grabbing desperation for clicks and looks and investment that I just can’t handle anymore. Like imagine if the person who made the calculator was spamming the newspapers about how this changes everything and it can calculate faster than all the mathematicians combined, so surely the world is going to collapse right when it hits store shelves AND math as a field is dead. That’s literally the equivalent. And worse, since social media algorithmic feeds will show you anything that has even a slight trend of clicks or a slight bit of promotion money, then it’s spammed in your feed 50 times a day. A couple of podcasts ago, I misspoke and made a slight joke on drug abuse or whatever, and it completely went over my head that it could possibly hit a little too close to home for D'Ante'. I remember like while I was in Hong Kong, he mentioned something about drugs or whatever, but like since I was preoccupied with the stress of Hong Kong, I literally forgot about most of it. Or didn't realize the severity of what he was saying. So like listening to him tell his story; this was like listening and learning completely new. Even then, I didn't know the full details. Yeah....airpods suck. During the hike i think water got into my sony headphones since i was being dumb and didnt use an umbrella until late so the audio ended up TERRIBLE. I tried as hard as i could to fix up the audio but i dont think its that recoverable sorry about that. I was gonna make this like a 4 week long podcast run (mostly to be able to have a huge backlog of episodes), but im instead only going to do an episode every 2 days for this run up, so then all the trash audio episodes will be on just one week span, then the final episode will be on Sunday. So it will just be one week of trash audio for people who really like my actual normal episodes. Should be too be if I do it this way.…
