Jason Parks of Baseball Prospectus recently released his top ten prospects report for the Royals minor league system and was kind enough to talk with the Kansas City Baseball Vault about the rankings, the Royals development process and the level of talent in the Royals system. He also offered his opinion on the potential of a Wil Myers-for-James Shields trade, and the philosophy behind trading prospects in general. Parks offered a long-term look at each of his top ten prospects, including telling us about the two names he felt like he could have placed higher. Parks sees a lot of the Royals players as his initial work in baseball writing was in regards to the Rangers system, a team which shares a spring training complex with the Royals. He also weighed in on the Royals training methods, management, David Glass and gave an update on life at BP after Kevin Goldstein.
