Klaus Stapf, Bürgermeister der Stadt Karlsruhe und Prof. Dr. Oliver Kraft, Vizepräsident für Forschung des Karlsruher Instituts für Technologie (KIT), begrüßen die Referenten sowie die Bürgerinnen und Bürger zur Veranstaltung „KIT im Rathaus". Im Anschluss an deren einleitende Worte zum Thema "Natürliche Lebensgrundlagen erhalten", stellt Prof. Dr. Frank Schilling als wissenschaftlicher Sprecher des KIT-Zentrums Klima und Umwelt sowie Inhaber der Dr. Martin Herrenknecht-Stiftungsprofessur (Institut für Angewandte Geowissenschaften) das Zentrum "Klima und Umwelt" im Allgemeinen vor und gibt erste Einblicke in die Thematik. Die vom ZAK | Zentrum für Angewandte Kulturwissenschaft und Studium Generale koordinierte Veranstaltung „KIT im Rathaus“ fand am 22. Juni 2016 im Bürgersaal des Karlsruher Rathauses statt.
