Welcome to episode 28 of Kneel Before Aud!
This is a special edition of Kneel Before Aud! As fans of KBA know, my first question to my guests is always “What is your nerd origin story?” So, when I was at San Diego Comic Con this past July, I asked seven wonderful folks from different areas of nerdom this very question – actors, comedians, lawyers and writers – I’ve taken all the answers and put them together for you in this episode. Seven people, seven nerd origin stories and now take a look at this AWESOME group:
1. Mark Gagliardi from The Thrilling Adventure Hour and co-host of the podcast We Got This with Mark and Hal
2. Hal Lublin also from The Thrilling Adventure Hour and co-host of the podcast We Got This with Mark and Hal. In addition, Hal also does the voice of Steve Carlsberg in Welcome to Night Vale.
3. Teri Luberoff, the Chief Operating Officer of the world famous Meltdown Comics in Hollywood
4. Claudia Dolph, co-founder of Geek Girl Authority and co-host of the podcast Poll Cats.
5. Adam Silverstein, the Chief Experience Officer of the world famous Meltdown Comics in Hollywood
6. Actor Ike Barinholtz from Mad TV, Eastbound and Down, The Mindy Project, The Awesomes and he also has a part in the upcoming DC film Suicide Squad!
7. Actress Wendi McLendon-Covey from The Groundlings, Reno 911, Bridesmaids and currently the star of the hit ABC show, The Goldbergs.
Now, a couple of these have some crazy background noise because most were recorded in bars and lobbies all across San Diego so please forgive – especially Ike’s. His interview has a lot of mic popping and distortion but I didn’t want to scrap it because it’s way too good. Ike’s interview is also very dirty and chalk full of bad language so once again, please forgive. It was just too fun!
